The full stainless Generation 4, is Active Autowerke's most innovative cat-back exhaust to date. Designed specifically for the E46 M3 with styling and performance, the Gen 4 tuned straight through design with in line resonators offer an incomparable combination of power and sound. With applications to both normally aspiration and supercharging vehicles, the design staff at Active Autowerke created a new and revolutionary pipe routing design with optimum pipe diameters which enabled the Gen 4 to create horsepower without any restrictions.

Redefined and reworked, the Generation 4 only look similar to the Gen 3 on the outside with the same classics 80mm tips, but is totally reworked on the insides where it matters... It is lighter, stronger and more robust with a distinct sound unique only to the Generation 4.

Performance gains of 5-7 peak rear wheel horsepower can be expected with this exhaust installed. Comparable dyno tests were also taken of a E46 M3 without a rear exhaust and one with the Generation 4 installed. NO LOSS in power was measured with the Generation 4 installed. This exhaust produces a very rich, low frequency tone at idle to moderate RPMs while a distinct, robust sound is measured at higher RPMs validating the performance capabilities of this Generation 4.

Sounding more like a V-8 than an in-line 6, this exhaust provides a deep and nice mellow tone eliminating the common "tinny" rattling sound of the factory exhaust.

This exhaust utilizes all the stock mounting points, making installation quick and easy.

Featuring a high polish finish with 4-80mm large, straight tips embossed with the AA logo, this exhaust is considered by many enthusiasts as the most aggressive and sleekest looking muffler on the market. No modifications to the rear body valance is required.
